AIMS OF THE ASSOCIATION
The aims of the National Association of Papal Honorees
are to
identify, distinguish and bring together all
those who have been appointed to the post of Gentleman of His Holiness, to
membership in the Pontifical Equestrian Order of Pius IX, the Pontifical
Equestrian Order
of Saint Gregory the Great or the
Pontifical Equestrian Order of Pope Saint
Sylvester, or who have received the Cross
Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice
and the Cross
Benemerenti. Honorary membership is conferred on
all Ecclesiastical Honorees in the classes of Monsignorial Titles and those
holding the title of Assistant to the Papal Throne.
It
is intended that an annual
Mass shall be celebrated in honor of Saint Gregory the Great and Pope Saint
Sylvester and to remember deceased Gentlemen of His Holiness, Pontifical Knights
and Dames, and recipients of the Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice. The
Association will publish here the names of all recipients of Papal Honors whose
appointments have been announced in the Acta Apostolicae Sedis, and when
so informed, the names of deceased members.
